Holy moly.

Leddy Harper is an author I’ve never had the pleasure of reading before, but being the blurb/synopsis junkie that I am, there was just something about this story that right off the jump, I knew I couldn’t walk away from. I needed to experience it and now that it’s done, let me tell you, I am so glad I did.

This is the kind of emotionally gripping tale that you want to pick up and lose yourself in.

Right from the Prologue, you’re thrown right into the emotional sea that is this novel and it doesn’t let up.

Killian broke my heart right off the jump and he continued to do so for a good portion of this book. His demons, what he’s lived through and lived with, I couldn’t imagine how hard it must have been for him, but this author, she gives you a deep look into it. Makes you understand, makes you sympathize, even when you don’t want to because the guy later in life can be overly stubborn.

And as far as friends go, as far as characters that can handle the boy and man that Killian is, go, well I must say, there could be no better one than Rylee. She was as unique as her name implies and honestly, even at times when it was not easy, I’m glad she was the one with him.

These types of stories, the ones that read so real, they’re very rare these days and without giving anything of the story away, this is one of those stories that I’m positive will stay with me long after I flip the last page and close it. This is the epitome of darkness and light. Hurt and healing. Loving through the pain.

It was tragic at times. Painful. But it was also very moving and beautiful and I think anyone that’s a fan of emotionally driven stories, even more so romance, will enjoy this if they take the chance on it.

My thanks to the author and all others involved in letting me read this before release. Words can’t express how much I enjoyed Rylee and Killian’s journey.

Author Bio

Leddy Harper had to use her imagination often as a child. She grew up the only girl in a house full of boys. At the age of fourteen, she decided to use that imagination and wrote her first book, and never stopped.

She often calls writing her therapy, using it as a way to deal with issues through the eyes of her characters.

She is now a mother of three girls, leaving her husband as the only man in a house full of females.

The decision to publish her first book was made as a way of showing her children to go after whatever it is they want to. Love what you do and do it well. Most importantly Leddy wanted to teach them what it means to overcome their fears.
