~*♥Release Blitz with Review♥*~ Solis (Modern Descendants #2) by Elda Lore

Title: Solis
Series: Modern Descendants #2
Author: Elda Lore (L.B. Dunbar writing as)
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Release Date: January 30, 2017

Veva Matron is a feisty girl raging with suppressed anger and distrust of men.

Solis Cronus is a blindingly beautiful, Greek god of a guy, who likes to play women.

An electric hatred thunders through each of them about the other until one night, lightning strikes. A world of secrets reveals the destiny of two at odds with one another, and clouds the line between love and hate. Can a lively girl find calm in the stormy tension of a boy made of sunshine and sin?

The mythical tale of Zeus and Hera reignites in this modern interpretation of enemies to lovers. Full of flirty sexual angst and teasing temptation, Solis might be the one man who can extinguish Veva’s angry fire and ignite a different sort of flame: desire.

Fantasy based stories are normally not the first ones I’ll reach for when reading. Not because I can’t find enjoyment in them, but because, normally, when an author takes on the undertaking of writing fantasy, there are worlds that need to be brought to life, characters, such as gods, fairies, and the like that need to be build and portrayed in a very deep way for readers to connect. It takes a lot of brain power for me to be able to sit down and read them for these reasons, so I tend to stay away.

But sometimes, like with this series Elda Lore has created, I’m drawn to them. I’m drawn to the very things about this genre’s stories that I often don’t have the time for. Characters rich and deep, fictional, while keeping core traits about themselves that are very real and decidedly human. Worlds like ours, but definitely unlike ours, and the rich detail that comes from it.

I was captured and held by the story of Veva and Solis, much like the first book in the series. Maybe even more so. The push and pull, the seemingly decided fate even if on a good day it appears these characters hated each other. I fell in love with how sure Solis was and the lengths that he went throughout the story to prove it. To never give up and to hold true to his line of always following her.

And I sympathized with Veva and what she had held onto and been taught through her years growing up, resulting in her fear and her almost running away from what was surely destiny between her and Solis. It felt very real and at its most basic even when these characters are fictional and possess powers we can only dream of, were very human.

The other characters present here, their roles and the secrets and lies that are revealed throughout, were added in just the right manner to make me even more invested in where this series of books with these characters goes next. What Veva learns about her family and the impact it has throughout the story once the bomb is dropped was just another thing to enjoy.

The writer’s style of writing, while drenched in a whole lot of much needed detail, especially for someone coming into the series off this story and having not the read the other one, was very well done as well. Easy to follow, and giving just the right amount of detail at the points where it was a factor, I had no issues keeping up even though while reading this, I ended up sick.

It was more of the spell binding type of read I’ve come to expect from this author and what I’ve experienced from her alter ego in the past. I believe anyone who has experienced this author before will enjoy this, as well as just fans of paranormal romance and fantasy and urge new readers to this author to try it. Hopefully you’ll enjoy it as much as I did.

My thanks to the author and all others involved in letting me read this before release. Solis’ and Veva’s journey was one that I am so thankful to have gotten to be a part of, and I eagerly await what comes next with the equally loveable Heph.
