~*★Blog Tour with Review★*~ This Isn't Over, Baby by K Webster

This Isn’t Over, Baby by K. Webster War & Peace
Publication Date: August 30, 2016
Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Dark Romance

They’d won the battle and I held up the white flag of defeat… But the war wasn’t OVER. I suffered the aching loss of what they had stolen from me. OVER and OVER again, my heart broke. The white Queen and the black King had taken OVER the game and ruled for what seemed like eternity. Until one day, eternity was finally OVER. I was the dark knight who would rise again and conquer. I was the man who would win OVER the most important piece on the board. A slayer. A protector. A father. A new king with the blackest of hearts. And head OVER heels in love with… The little princess who owned my twisted soul. Sometimes the villains don’t just want their happy ending… They demand it. This isn’t OVER, baby. This will never be OVER.

Warning: This Isn’t Over, Baby is a dark romance. Strong sexual themes and violence which could trigger emotional distress are found in this story. This story is NOT for everyone.

Title: This Isn't Over, Baby
Author: K Webster
Genre: Contemporary Romance, Dark
Series or Standalone: Series (War & Peace #3)
Rating: ★★★★
Reviewer: Melyssa
It never ceases to amaze me, the lengths this author can and will go to in order to deliver one hell of a story. Even now, having finished it hours ago, I’m still left with a “what the hell did I just read” playing over and over in my head.

What she succeeded in doing in the series before, bringing the most dark and twisted to light, even at times bringing some even stronger beautiful moments, she’s done again here, but on a much deeper more twisted level.

This book is not for the faint of heart. Books that feature the villains though, they never really are. I will say that before picking up any of the books in this series, be aware that there are triggers within the pages. Serious ones. This is not a feel good romance with a flowers and roses HEA. There will be blood, pain and a whole lot of darkness before even the slightest sliver of light breaks through.

This story delivered on what worked for me in the previous two stories, but also delivered on more, as we’re given an even deeper look into the twisted perverse, yet strangely addicting life of Gabe. What turned him into the person he became, and just what lies underneath when he finds the one person in the world that seems to be accepting of it. Not wanting to change it, but join with it.

There were moments here where as weird as it seems to admit, I actually “liked” him. There were actually these few and far between, but very there redeemable moments and I found that once I jumped on the Gabe train, I couldn’t get off. I didn’t want to get off, even when I turned the last page. That held captive was I in the way this was all going to play out.

With the way the previous book in the series ended, I knew we were in for one hell of a ride, I just had no idea it was going to be the ride that it was. But for this reader, it worked. The one person in the world meant for Gabe, it made sense it was her to me. Though I will admit that knowing who she was, who she was born of, in no way prepared me for who she grew up to be.

Holy batshit crazy alert, Batman!

And with the way it ended…Damn. Well played, author lady. Well played.

Fans of the previous books in the series, darker reads in general, or just fans of this author’s previous works, I think you’ll enjoy this as much if not more than I did. I know I can’t wait to see what the author has in store next.

My thanks to the author and all others involved in letting me read an ARC of this deliciously dark ride. This is a crazy train I don’t think I’m ever going to want to come off of. Another fantastic edition to one hell of a series.

Previous Books in Series

This is War, Baby (Book 1)

My life had a plan. Until he invaded it and stole it all away. My captor took me and I became a pawn.

His strategy changed and he sent me away to WAR, because money is everything in this world.

In my WAR, though, I found peace.

I couldn’t help but find love where I least expected it, with a man who lived a battle every day of his life
…all inside his head.

But then my captor came back for me.
Yet, this time, battle lines had been drawn and I was protected.

So we thought.
Even though my WAR was raging,
my captor would fight to the death.

The good guys always win, right?
Not always.

All’s fair in love and WAR, right?
Not this time.

This is War, Baby is a dark romance. A really dark one. So dark you’re going to wish you had a flashlight to see yourself to the end and someone to hold your hand. Human trafficking, dubious consent, and strong sexual themes that could trigger emotional distress are found in this story. This story is NOT for everyone.

This is Love, Baby (Book 2)

My War was over and I had lost. My captor reminded me I was nothing more than his pawn.
His strategy never changed…it was always me.

But what he didn’t know was that LOVE always wins.

In my War, I’d found not only peace
but LOVE as well.

I’d been through a battlefield with my War and LOVE was what brought us to the other side.
Our LOVE was beautiful and pure. Undying.

My captor thinks he has won this war. That I will LOVE him.
What he doesn’t know is this time, I’m the one with a strategy. I’m always thinking several moves ahead of him, my War taught me that.

I will outsmart him and find peace again.
This is a war I will win.
My LOVE will conquer all.

This is Love, Baby is a dark romance. Strong sexual themes and violence which could trigger emotional distress are found in this story. Terrible, terrible things happen to our poor heroine, so you’ve been properly warned. This story is NOT for everyone.
