Release Date: June 17, 2014

Will his call of duty break both their hearts?

Losing her father in Desert Storm has left Stephanie James with a bitter soul when it comes to the military. As a college senior juggling a full course load, Steph's only goal is to graduate with honors at the end of the semester. She’s focused, determined, and a firm believer in all work and no play. Then she meets Brandon Walker at a New Year’s Eve costume party. Despite his disguise, Steph finds herself attracted to the camouflaged soldier who curls her toes with a scorching midnight kiss.

Brandon is an engineering major and ROTC student from the hills of Kentucky. Growing up as the son of a major general has given Brandon firsthand knowledge of the struggles military families sometimes face. Now that his father’s memory is fading, Brandon is even more determined to make his dad proud and graduate as an officer in the United States Army. Then he meets Stephanie, and suddenly, his focus is less on his military service and more on the pretty brunette who has stolen his heart. When he becomes aware of Steph’s resentment toward the military, he worries their relationship is doomed.

Steph unexpectedly finds herself in need of a roommate. Brandon volunteers, thinking it’s the perfect opportunity to show her the real Brandon, before he’s forced to admit the truth about his four-year obligation to the army. Afraid that living together will be a distraction to graduating on time, Steph establishes house rules—rules they both find difficult to obey.

When faced with the realization that she's fallen in love with a soldier, can Steph’s wounds from the past be healed with love in her present . . . and in her future?

This story started out by just being a great feel good college romance story.  No major angst, just flowing nicely.  By mid story, it changed to a heartbreaking sad revelation that was not only about two people in love anymore but families struggling with legitimate issues. I'll give this story 5 amazing stars.  If the author can accomplish to make me feel emotional while reading her book, she gladly deserves those stars.

We have Steph, a senior in college who is a really focused young woman wanting to be a teacher.  She gets a kiss from a guy that she seems to think about all the time.  Brandon can't forget that kiss from the mystery girl either.  They officially meet in a class that they both share, they hit it off immediately.  They quickly fall hard for each other.  Brandon is keeping something from her but when she finds out, will she be able to get past it and overcome her fears?

"Blood doesn't make you family"

This story is so much more than a love story, it's also about families that have real life experiences that can alter their futures.  Best friends that are like family.

This story is beautifully written with a great plot and was paced just perfectly.  It can be sad at times but also left me smiling.  It's a refreshing read about realistic life experiences.  After I started reading it, I just couldn't seem to want to put it down for very long.  A romance that didn't have any over the top unnecessary drama.

I loved the secondary characters as much as the primary ones, which were as equally important to the progression of this amazing journey.  The characters had some degree of maturity.  It had a wonderfully written epilogue that gave me the HEA that I was seeking so badly.

This is a standalone told in a dual POV. This story is worth being read and also all of Sydney's previous titles are worth your precious time and money.  Bottom line is, it's an amazingly sweet, heartfelt story.

Thank you for the copy of Soldier On provided by Sydney Logan in exchange for an honest and spoiler free review.
