~*★Blog Tour with Review★*~ Dirty Ugly Toy by K. Webster

Dirty Ugly Toy by K Webster
Publication Date: January 18, 2015
Genres: RomanceContemporaryDarkAdult

Her time is over. Things are looking up.
She’s dirty and ugly. He’s wicked but handsome. Six months to toy with her. Six months of vacation and a ton of money. I’ll hurt her beyond repair. I’ve been through much worse. She’s difficult to control and doesn’t obey. I’m done submitting to anyone or anything in this life. I should hate her. I should hate him. The game has changed. I will win. Dirty Ugly Toy is a novel that blurs the lines of right and wrong, deals with abuse, contains dubious consent, and adult subject matter. If you are sensitive to violent sexual situations, the book may not be suitable for you. Some parts of this book are not easy to read and are not intended for everyone. However, those that keep an open mind and stick with it will not be disappointed.

If you’re looking for a light read, this isn’t going to be the book for you. The warning in the synopsis says it all really, but just in case you’re not seeing that and you’re diving in blind, this one goes dark and should be approached cautiously if you’ve got triggers.

That being said, this book surprised me in a good way. I went in thinking just based on the first chapter I knew what I was going to be in for, but as it turns out, I didn’t know anything. There were things that took place here that I wasn’t expecting and that kept me guessing right up until the end, especially when it came to the happily ever after aspect. If one could even be had for these two damaged souls.

This was my first read by this author, but if this book is any indication of what she may have written in the past or what she has on the horizon for the future, this will definitely not be my last. The author did one hell of a job connecting me to these characters even though the position they find themselves in is definitely not something I would actively search out in terms of what I like to read.

I went into this assuming I wouldn’t like Braxton. I mean seriously, given what he does with his “toys” what the hell is to like? He’s definitely not someone I would actively want to spend time around in my own life, at least on the surface. What you see before you really delve deeper into him. Once you do that though…I swear, I had so much love for him. He may be twisted and things that happened to him may have twisted the way he treats the world and the people in it, but lord, I sympathized. I did. No matter how dark he got, how twisted and messed up the situations became throughout, I was hooked right in and determined for him to get a happy end because I knew the place it was coming from.

Enter “Her”.

Jessica early on, is quite frankly the dirty ugly toy he makes her out to be. I mean, when you first meet her, he’s pulling her off the street where for a fix she’s willing to blow a guy, let alone the other avenues spoken of. It’s not a good situation and the more you read and you find out just what drove her to where Braxton found her, it doesn’t get better. It gets worse. It saddened me. I felt for her just as much I did Braxton and wanted these two to be able to see their way clear. Together and individually.

I’m a sucker for damaged characters. The ones that even if their pasts aren’t truly as tragic as these two were, still come across very real. K. Webster delivered that to me in spades. Along with what I have to figure is damn near perfect pacing. The flow from one scene to another, one chapter to another seemingly flawless with just the right amount of detail, background information and past events to keep the reader involved as well as in the know about what was happening.

For fans of this author, love stories that just don’t come easy and ones that pack an emotional punch, I think you’ll enjoy this.

My thanks to the author and all others involved in letting me read this before official release. The journey between Him and Her (Brax and Bunny) being one that I am glad I took the chance with.
